  10. THE ANSWERS:

  12.    1) The total cost of this equipment cannot be discussed here as
  13. it creates marital conflicts.

  15.    2) No, we cannot send a message to your brother in Hong Kong. We
  16. suggest you call Western Union.
  17.  
  18.    3) This is strictly a hobby; we do not have the facilities or the
  19. time to fool around with TV sets, radios or hi-fi. We suggest that you
  20. see a serviceman.

  22.    4) Yes, the antenna in the backyard is essential to the operation
  23. of the equipment.

  25.    5) The farthest station we have contacted has been in the
  26. Ubangiland.

  28.    6) The cards on the wall are called QSL cards. They are
  29. confirmation of contacts made with other stations.
  30.  
  31.    7) It is technically impossible for this station's equipment to
  32. interfere with television reception, telephones or stereo systems. Any
  33. interference problems of that nature are caused by design flaws in the
  34. home-entertainment devices themselves.

  36.   8) An Amateur Radio station may only be operated by a highly qualified,
  37. technically skilled electronics expert. It takes dedication, training and
  38. intelligence to reach the level of competence that justifies one to be
  39. license by the United States Federal Government. Therefore, it is not
  40. considered inappropriate to show proper awe, respect and general
  41. obsequiousness when I discuss my hobby or operate the controls.
